GoodStyler

"GoodStyler" is an English language style checker and text editor that looks for misused words, and some grammar/punctuation errors.  It is designed to speed the work of proofreaders, avoid embarrassing language misuses, and improve the user's writing.  

Based on Strunk & White's "Elements of Style," WordNet, and personal experience as an award-winning novelist,  the database will be regularly updated with future app versions.  “GoodStyler” is not a spellchecker, grammar or punctuation tool, though it will perform a basic spellcheck and its database has limited data on grammar and punctuation.  Potential misused words and expressions are highlighted with tools to make informed decisions. 

As a novelist, I find that ideas come at unpredictable times.  The iPod/iPhone/iPad, are great tools for keeping track of these ideas.  Though there are many text editors, and there even is a style checker, no app combines both.  Some apps require the use of the internet to check grammar and style, while others work as "dictionaries" that can only be used for reference.  "GoodStyler" was born out of a need to have an app that could apply a "dictionary" to a specific text at the touch of a button.  It does not need the internet, because its database is included.  

With "GoodStyler" I can look at my text and visualize potential problems at a glance.  Typing on the computer or any device, I save my text in DropBox, iDisk ("GoodStyler" currently does not link to a cloud service but I will explore the idea in a future release), or send myself emails, then copy the text into my new app.  It checks the text and allows me to correct errors and omissions on the spot.  To export the corrected text, I use copy/paste.
